Shakti Mohan On Choreographing Ranbir Kapoor For Shamshera, Says It Was Dream Like To Say 'Action' To Him
Shakti Mohan Recalls Choreographing Ranbir Kapoor
If you are a fan Shakti Mohan’s dancing abilities you’d be surprised to learn that the former Dance India Dance winner never aspired to build a career in choreography. Shakti rather had civil services on her mind.
Revealing this and much more the ace dancer shed some light on her career, journey and years growing up while chatting with Mandira Bedi on her talk show Love, Laugh, Live. One of the very talented Mohan sister Shakti revealed, “Never thought I would be dancing, I was preparing to be an IAS officer. I was good at studies, I used to top my class but I loved to dance. So dance just happened accidentally and then I asked myself ‘Should I do it?’ My dad encouraged me saying ‘Just got for it’.”
The choreographer went on to add, “When I came to Mumbai, Neeti Didi took me to watch contemporary production, I did not know what contemporary was. I saw it and fell in love and knew that this is exactly what I want to do in my life.”
Shakti who went on to win DID season 2 and has recently choreographed a dance number for Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film Shamshera recalls how excited she was to say ‘action’ to the actor on set. She says, “Ranbir came on the set and I’m like oh my god this is like the dream to say ‘Action’ to him!”
The dancer has certainly proved through her journey that dreams do become real with hard work and perseverance and she sure has many more big milestones to set in her journey which so far has been remarkable.
