Samir Soni on his failed marriage with Rajlakshmi Khanvilkar: "We knew each other only for three months, married for six months"
Samir Soni on his failed marriage
Samir Soni has become a popular name in Bollywood now. The actor has made his mark in the industry and is known to one and all. But, his life has not been just a bed of roses at all times. In fact, in a recent interview, he opened up about his failed marriage with Rajlakshmi Khanvilkar, with whom the wedding lasted for just 6 months. He also revealed that the night their divorce was finalised was one of the worst nights ever!
Talking to Times Now, Samir said, “Don't jump into anything too soon and don’t jump out of it too soon. Because you got to give it time and we did not. Once you kind of fall in love, you think everything should be hunky-dory but living together is tough and you don’t know what things will be like. We knew each other only for three months really.”
On the same night of the divorce, he also learnt that most parts of his debut film that he had shot for were chopped. He said, “That’s a night I can never forget in my life. It was a double whammy for me. In my personal life, I felt like I had failed because I was not keen on the divorce. I thought we could have given it more time because we were just married for six months, so you kind of interpret that as a failure on your part.”
Samir Soni is now married to Neelam Kothari and the two are also proud parents to daughter Ahana. Rajlaxmi, on the other hand, married Rahul Roy. Samir has now turned into an author as well with his memoir – My Experiments With Silence: The Diary of an Introvert. The book features a few pages from his personal diary as well.
