Richa Chadha Celebrates 5 Years Of Masaan; Remembers Standing Ovation Received By The Film At Cannes

Director Neeraj Ghaywan’s Masaan is a true masterpiece. The film, which is set in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, follows two very different stories which converge beautifully at the end. Featuring exceptionally talented actors including Sanjay Mishra, Richa Chadha, Vicky Kaushal, Vineet Kumar, Shweta Tripathi and Pankaj Tripathi, the film was first screened at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. The powerful performances and impeccable story-line did not just receive overwhelming critical acclaim but also helped the team bag two awards.

As Masaan clocks in 5 years today, Richa took to her social media handle to celebrate the milestone with a special throwback video. She shared the clip of the 5 minute-long standing ovation that Masaan was treated with at the Cannes premiere along with a heartfelt message which read: “5 years of Masaan ! This film is a gift that keeps on giving... Masaan made it to the Un Certain Regard at #Cannes, and this video was taken right after the screening.” Richa went on to add that she made friends for life and got everything that an artist could ever ask for.
