Rhea Chakraborty's Mother Says Her Daughter Was 'Dragged Through Town' For Loving Sushant Asks, 'How Will She Heal From This?'
Rhea Chakraborty's Mother On Actress's Release From Jail
Rhea Chakraborty is finally out of the Byculla Jail on bail albeit with a few conditions. Now, Rhea’s mother Sandhya Chakraborty has finally opened up in an interview with the Times of India and has spoken at length about the ordeal her family went through. Even though Rhea has been granted bail, the mudslinging is not over yet. Her brother Showik continues to be in jail as the High Court observed that he has a nexus with the drug peddlers.
Her mother stated Rhea’s father was “on the verge of a breakdown yesterday”, because on Tuesday a special NDPS court had extended Rhea and her brother’s custody by two weeks. Even though Sandhya wondered how would Rhea get out of all this, she showed immense faith in the strength of character her daughter possesses, “What she has gone through… how will she heal from this? But she is a fighter and she must be strong,” she told the portal.
Rhea who is now back from the jail and is at her home couldn’t sit still for one moment and collect herself because of the constant chastising that is being meted out to her and the constant lynching she has been through, revealed her mother. She stated, she will have to put her daughter, “on therapy to help her get over this trauma and reclaim her life,” Mrs Chakraborty told the paper.
She is also aware that people are still casting aspersions on her daughter and this is not the end of it, it continues to happen and will continue for a long time, “While it’s a relief she’s out of prison, it’s crazy it’s still not over. My son is still behind bars and I’m paranoid about what tomorrow will bring,” stated Sandhya.
In the interview Sandhya also revealed that the claims about Rhea meeting Sushant on 13 June are “baseless” and they are being made by a neighbour who was a huge Sushant Singh Rajput fan and that she had also come over to their place to meet him. “We know this neighbour. She was a huge fan of Sushant’s who came over to our place to meet him once. Why she’d say something like this without proof is beyond me. One just has to look at Sushant or Rhea’s cellular location to know this whole thing is just another lie,” she said.
Sandhya said she is very proud of her daughter and the way she conducted herself during the vigilante justice, “She’s maintained her poise and dignity even as she was pushed around, called names and landed with scratches on her face on way to the ED office. Yet, even after she came home today, she looked at us and said: ‘Why do you look sad, we have to be strong and fight this’,” she added.
