Back in June this year it was reported that the very talented and versatile Pankaj Tripathi has been roped in to headline the sequel of Paresh Rawal’s 2012 film OMG: Oh My God! Akshay Kumar, who played the role of Lord Krishna in the film, will reprise his character for the sequel whereas Yami Gautam will portray the female lead. Buzz suggested that the pre-production work had begun and the film is ready to go on floors. In fact, makers apparently plan to finish the project in one go by October.

Well, in a recent chat with Spotboye, Pankaj was asked about the film. The actor was quoted saying, “It is really too early to say anything about this film. Having said this, I must say an artiste cannot live and function in the near of a backlash. Risk toh aapko leni padegi. If you want to achieve success in your field, you have to leave the safe zone.” For the uninitiated, several organizations had protested against OMG: Oh My God when it released and had claimed that the film made derogatory references to Hindu gods.

At the moment, Pankaj has many exciting projects in the pipeline such as ‘83 and Bachchan Pandey. Up next, he will next be seen in Mimi alongside Kriti Sanon. The trailer of the comedy drama won hearts and audiences are now eagerly waiting for it to premiere on Netflix on 30th July.
