Ali On Whether Janhvi Will Reprise Sridevi's Role In
It is a known fact that Anil Kapoor and Sridevi starrer Mr. India will soon be remade. It would be helmed by director Ali Abbas Zafar. Not many details about the film have been given out, we are nonetheless excited for it. One question that has been raging our minds is who would reprise the roles. Also, would Janhvi Kapoor be a choice to play Sridevi's character in the remake? Now, Ali Abbas Zafar has opened up about it.
Speaking to ETimes, he said, "Early days still, but Boney Kapoor will be really happy if that happens." He also stressed the fact that this one would be nothing like the 1987 film. “It has got nothing to do with Anil Kapoor's 'Mr. India'; it's a new sci-fi film, with a big budget and high production values. We want to create characters like the 'Avengers'. This 'Mr. India' will be of international standards,” he quipped, adding that it will be heavy on special effects as well.
Ali has an interesting lineup ahead of him. He has directed the web-series Tandav, which will release on Amazon Prime on 15th January. He will also be doing a film with Diljit Dosanjh that will be set against the backdrop of the Riots and there's also Katrina Kaif starrer superhero film. In his personal life, the director got married to Alicia just a few days back.
