Pooja On Her Parents Reaction To Her Bold Scenes
Web shows are replete with bold scenes these days. However, they don’t seem to be distasteful when there is a demand for such a scene in the script. We had a heart of hearts conversation with Pooja Banerjee about her being a part of such scenes and we also dwelled on the mentality of the film industry to stereotype actors.
Pooja will soon be seen in Alt Balaji’s Kehne Ko Hai Humsafar Season 3 says she doesn’t have any problems being part of such scenes and is absolutely confident that doing such scenes won’t really stereotype her. Quipped she, “I am really comfortable in my own skin and I am confident that I will bever be judged for my scenes. I will never reach a level where I get stereotyped. I will never do such a thing that people think I am meant for certain kinds of roles."
"The reason why I have been doing varied amount of shows and totally different and contrasting characters is that I am able to switch on and switch off and I cannot be stereotyped till date. Till date, you can pick up any of my characters and none of them is similar to the previous one. In any scene and in any character, nobody can stereotype me because I will not let that happen to myself, she added.
The actress further went on to shed light on what her parents’ take was on the bold scenes she has been part of till date. She revealed that earlier they did talk about it and didn’t quite see it in a positive light but eventually things have changed as far as their perspectives are concerned. “They are well aware of me doing such scenes. It is just that they have understood my profession. Actually, there was a point where they would talk about it and they might just say something. But I think they have understood my profession and they have realized that my personal life is a 360-degree change over when it comes to my profession. so now they have stopped evaluating themselves as to what is there in my real life vis-à-vis my professional life."
She continued, "I have always told them not to go by my onscreen image because I am what I am in my real life. I can change to anybody on screen but that doesn’t mean I have become that person. They have understood that and they have lived with me for a while after being in this field and I think they have seen me grow as an individual and as an actor. They have come to the conclusion that I can take my own decisions and they know what is good for me.”
