EXCLUSIVE: Ayushmann Khurrana Reveals After Playing Gay, He Now Wants To Play Pregnant Man

Tonight, at 7:30 PM, the world will be witness to an extravaganza titled Zee Cine Awards. Yes, the award function will be televised tonight. All eyes will be glued to the screen and there will be so many anticipations and so many expectations!

There were many such acts that happened at the awards night which took place on the 12^th of March ’20. Actors Rajkummar Rao and Aparshakti Khurrana hosted the show that saw the tinsel town descend at a Mumbai ground.

Amongst the present guests were also the Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan actor Ayushmann Khurrana and his wife Tahira Kashyap!

The highlight of the evening was the way brother Aparshakti was pulling Ayushmann’s leg constantly. It was during a pregnant lady act that AParshaktii and Rajkummar Rao coerced Ayusmann to don the pregnant woman look. It was during this that Ayushmann revealed, he would want to be part of a role that would turn him into a pregnant woman on the big screen!

Well, the actor has done a lot of roles that many others would refuse point-blank. His last role was that of a gay man who is out and about with his sexual orientation and is unabashed about it in the film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhaan. Well, the film tanked miserably at the box office.

And now, it was during this ‘pregnant woman’ act that Rajkummar Rao and Aparshakti made him wear a cushion that hung in front of his stomach giving it a bulging appearance as though, he is expecting! After a little gig that the three actors did together. Rajkummar said, ‘Thank you Ayushmann, thank you so much… Dekha, Itna Sa Hi Tha… (So, you see you didn’t have to dance much) Ayushmann thereafter replied saying, “Bohot Mazaa Aa Gaya” (It was great fun). He further went on to say that he did not feel like taking the cushion off from in front of his stomach. Quipped he, “Matlab.. dobara utaarne ka man nahi kar raha hai…”( I don’t feel like taking it off again) Reiterating what one of the guests present there, he acquised,  “Suit Kar Raha Hai”(this look suits me)

That’s when Rajkummar Rao asked him, “Aisi Koi Film Karni Hai Payte Waali” (Do you want to do such a film in which you would be pregnant?) Ayushmann relied saying, “Mai Karna Chahta Hu Aisi Payte Waali Film (I would want to do a film in which I have a big stomach like this).Rajkummar then said, “Hum Unko Bolenge To De Denge.” (We will ask them to give you one such film and they will give it to you.)

Well, in Hollywood a number of films have been made in which we saw the male protagonist gets pregnant. Notable amongst such films is the 1978 film Rabbit Test, 1994 film ‘Junior’ starring Arnold Schwarzenegger or the more recent 2015 film Paternity Leave starring Jacob York and Charlie David.

However, with the audiences’ verdict of Shubh Mangal Zyaada Savdhaan, it was proved that the audience is indeed not comfortable watching ‘two men’ in love.
