Chehre: Rumi Jafry Opens Up About The Release Of The Film, Reveals Whether It Will Hit OTT Directly
Rumi Jafry On Whether Chehre Will Release On OTT
Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre was one of the films scheduled to release this week, but was pushed after there had been a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the nation. The film's release was deferred, like many other films and it is not yet known when these films will release again. Now, director Rumi Jafry has opened up about it.
Talking to ETimes, the director said, “Safety comes first. So in times like these where malls and cinema halls are going to shut early what’s the point in releasing the film? Many states are introducing night curfew in that case the last show will be at 4 pm.”
So are the makers looking at an OTT release for the film directly? Rumi said, “The team has got phenomenal response to both teaser and the trailer. People have also told me such good things about Mr Bachchan’s appearance on screen. We have made such a good film, so we must be a little patient. Having said that it is going to be the producer’s call completely, but yes we including Mr Bachchan decided ki film release hogi toh theatre mein hi hogi. It will definitely have a theatrical release.” He added that it is too early to contemplate a direct OTT release for the film.
Chehre also stars Annu Kapoor, Raghubir Yadav, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Krystle D'Souza and Rhea Chakraborty in important roles.
