Akshay Kumar, Virat Kohli and others remember the brave hearts of 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attacks
Akshay Kumar posts a message on the anniversary of 26/11
India remembers the brave hearts of 26/11 today on the 13th anniversary of the Mumbai terror attacks. Several celebrities took to social media sharing messages while remembering the horrific attacks led by ten terrorists which resulted in 175 deaths including the attackers and left more than 300 people wounded.
Akshay Kumar remembering the martyrs of 26/11 today posted a tribute on Twitter where he wrote,” It’s been 13 years since the horrific #MumbaiTerrorAttack. Remembering all those who lost their lives and loved ones. My heartfelt tribute to all the brave hearts who sacrificed their lives safeguarding our city.”
Actors Ranvir Shorey too expressed his sentiments on this dark day and wrote, “Never forgive. Never forget. #MumbaiTerrorAttack” in a tweet on Friday morning.
Cricketer Virat Kohli also tweeted in remembrance, “We will never forget this day, we will never forget the lives lost. Sending my prayers to the friends and families who lost their loved ones.”
Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar too remembered the lives that were lost during these terror attacks, “Heartfelt tributes to all the innocent civilians whom we lost in the barbaric 26/11 #MumbaiTerrorAttack & to all our real HEROES who sacrificed their lives.”
Cricketer Varinder Sehwag too remembered Tukaram Omble the Mumbai Police sub-inspector who caught terrorists Ajmal Kasab alive at the cost of his own life. “13 years since the sad day. He is of the greatest son of our soil- Shaheed Tukaram Omble. The courage, the presence of mind and the selflessness demonstrated by him on that day- no words,no awards can do justice. Dandavat pranam hai aise mahaan insaan ko,” Sehwag wrote sharing a picture of Omble.
The Mumbai terror attacks lasted for 4 days with the first attack taking place on 26/11 in 2008. The attacks took place across nine locations with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Leopold Café, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and Oberoi Trident, Nariman House being a few of the key places where that were attacked.
