Vidya Balan has given her nod to the Shakuntala Devi biopic. She is all set to play the mathematician who was considered as the human computer. Shakuntala Devi was a prodigy who could solve problems in the blink of an eye. She was first noticed at the age of 5 when she could effortlessly solve complex mathematical problems. The film will be directed by Anu Menon and it will release in Summer 2020.

2. Mission Mangal

Vidya will play one of the scientists of the Indian Space Research Organization, who helped to give shape to India’s first interplanetary expedition called Mission Mangalayan in 2014. The film will be directed by Jagan Shakti and besides Vidya, the film stars Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Sharman Joshi and Sonakshi Sinha. It will release on Independence Day, 2019.

3. Indira Gandhi biopic

Vidya Balan is all set to portray the first and the only woman Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi for a web series. While it is not yet confirmed, Vidya said that she is trying to do it. She said, "I am trying to do a web series which will be based on the life of Indira Gandhiji. As of now, we are trying to do it, but let's see how it takes shape." 4. Nerkonda Paarvai.

Vidya Balan will be a part of the Tamil remake of Pink. The acclaimed Hindi film will be remade in Tamil and Ajith will play the role of Amitabh Bachchan. This film will also mark the debut of Kalki Koechlin into Tamil cinema.
