Exclusive: Kalki Talks About Her National Award And Her Upcoming Film ‘Waiting’

Whoever’s seen Kalki Koechlin’s last year sentimental drama Margarita With A Straw would agree without doubts that she was undeniably brilliant. Having started with Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D, while she has over the years delivered a lot of performances that deserved accolades, the actress finally made it big receiving her first ever National Award Honor as Special Jury Award for Margarita… In an exclusive chat to Desimartini, Kalki accepted that winning a National Award is the biggest cinematic honor in the country and she couldn’t be happier. Kalki who was in the capital to discuss about her upcoming film ‘Waiting’, shared how special it was to be a part of a film that also had someone like Naseeruddin Shah alongside her. While she plays a young modern girl who has to make a life defining decision for herself, she already has garnered a lot of appreciation at various film festivals in the world. On being asked what actually made ‘Waiting’ so special, here’s what Kalki revealed:

Slated to release on May 27^th, Waiting is directed by Anu Menon who previously made the romantic comedy London Paris New York in 2012. While we congratulate Kalki for winning her first National Award win, here’s hoping she will spill the same magic in ‘Waiting’ as well.
