From starring in commercial films such as Dabangg to being a part of critical masterpiece such as Lootera, she has slowly but surely has carved a niche for herself in the industry.

Iteffaq

The upcoming action thriller is a remake of the 1969 Yash Chopra that starred Rajesh Khanna. The film is being directed by Abhay Chopra and stars Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.

The film is set to release on 3 November 2017.

AMRITA PRITAM BIOPIC

Based on the life of a popular poet Amrita Pritam, the project has long been in discussion in Bollywood. The story of the poetess, who shared a difficult relationship with lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi, is still in works. Sonakshi Sinha and Fawad Khan are rumoured to be confirmed for the two roles.

The film has no confirmed release date.

Vashu Bhagnani's Next

Sonakshi is a part of India's first stage reality movie that also stars Diljit Dosanjh. The one of a kind project has stared it's shoot in New York and parts of it were also shot at the IIFA 2017.

Happy Bhag Jayegi Returns

The actress will be starring alongside Diana Penty in the second installment of the 2016 sleeper hit Happy Bhag Jayegi. The film is to start shooting soon and it seems the film will be coming back bigger and better.
