Bollywood Actresses Who Turned Down Roles Opposite The KHANS!

The Khans, i.e., Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan have become the trinity of Bollywood. They are the face of success. Whatever film they work in turn out to be a hit! Be it their charisma or star power, they are the ultimate kings of Bollywood.

Needless to say, it is considered very fortunate to land a role opposite this Holy Trinity. I mean who would not want to work with the best actors of Bollywood. And you even have the security that the film will be a hit. No one will turn down such an offer right?

Wrong. There are actresses in the industry who have often said No to the Khans. At times it was their prior commitments while sometimes it was the lack of substance in the characters, but these actresses have turned down offers opposite the Khans. Check out the names of these actresses who refused to work with the Khans.

1. Swara Bhaskar

The Ranjhana actress has proved her mettle through small budget projects like Nil Battey Sannata. The Anarkali of Aaraa actress has hit the hadlines for turning down a role with Shahrukh Khan. Apparently, Swara was approached by Aanand L. Raai to play SRK’s MOTHER in his upcoming project! Weird isn’t it? The actress too felt so and declined the offer.

2. Kangana Ranaut

The Queen of Bollywood was considered for the lead role opposite SRK in Aanand L. Raai’s next. However, she turned down the offer. In the popular chat show, Koffee With Karan, she also said that she also said that she does not want to work with any of the Khans since the role opposite them is never meaty enough! Wow, that’s a bold and blunt revelation.

3. Amrita Rao

The actress was offered the role of Salman Khan’s sister in Prem Ratan Dhan Payoo. But she wanted to romance him on-screen. Things did not work out and she decided to turn down the role that was offered to her!

4. Deepika Padukone

DeePee declined offers to work alongside Salman Khan not just one but 5 times, including Sultan! Whoa! Her reason- the roles did not have enough substance.

5. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aish made a confession on Kapil Sharma show that she was offered Raja Hindustani opposite Aamir Khan back in 1996. But the actress was young and wanted to focus on her education. She later became Miss India and entered Bollywood, while Karishma and Aamir’s chemistry stole the show in the movie!

6. Amy Jackson

She was repeatedly offered the role opposite Salman Khan in Kick. She is an ardent Salman fan and wanted to work too, but she was bound by a contract with Shankar, the director of movies like Robot and I. She was replaced by Jacqueline and the film became a hit!

7. Vidya Balan

Apparently, Vidya was also offered Jacqueline’s role opposite Salman Khan in Kick. But she turned it down because she did not find the character to be strong enough. 

8. Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra was apparently offered the role opposite Salman Khan in Kick, but she refused to work. In an interview with Filmfare magazine, she had confessed that though she had been offered many roles alongside the Khans, she turned it down due to lack of substance in the characters! She wants to hone her acting skills instead of working in a ‘hero’s movie’.

9. Priyanka Chopra

The desi girl was offered the role opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini. But she wasn’t sure and Aamir convinced the makers to cast Asin, who also played the same role in the original!
