7 Bollywood Actors Whose Debut Films Got Shelved!
A lot of effort goes into bringing a film to the cinema halls and each and every film, be it good or disastrous, has a lot at stake for the people involved. The film becomes all the more special for an actor if it’s the first project they have signed. Now won’t it be really sad if the film unceremoniously gets shelved after a first time actor comes onboard? Well, this isn’t really at all odd as it has happened to a lot of actors in Bollywood. While the debut films of these actors got dropped after they had signed it, for some others, their films got shelved after they had shot for the entire project!! Here is a list of actors whose debut films were shelved!
Preity Zinta – The actress instantly caught people’s eye after the famous Liril soap advertisement and was offered a film by director Shekhar Kapoor when she accompanied a friend for an audition. She came on board for a film called Tara Rum Pum Pum in 1997 but the film ultimately got shelved and was never made.

Hrithik Roshan - Though he came dancing into Bollywood with his smashing debut in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai in 2001, but there was a film he had signed before. It was the same Shekhar Kapur project which he got Preity Zinta onboard for, but it was cancelled, Tara Rum Pum Pum in 1997.

Karan Singh Grover – The heart throb of Indian television, Karan was slated to make his debut in film called Lorie in 2011. He shot for the entire project which ultimately got dropped during post production and he later came to Bollywood with the film Alone in 2015.
Alia Bhatt – Alia is one of the youngest actresses in Bollywood and she made a super hit debut with Student Of The Year in 2012 but that wasn’t supposed to her debut. The actress was apparently set to make her debut in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film which was titled Balika Badhu, but her studies prevented the project which was ultimately dropped.

Bipasha Basu – Bipasha was approached for a debut in Bollywood much before it actually happened. Jaya Bachchan had convinced Bipasha to make her debut opposite Abhishek Bachchan in a J.P. Dutta film called Akhari Mughal. She agreed but the film ultimately got shelved.

Vidya Balan – Vidya’s debut into films did not happen in Bollywood. Vidya was to step into films with a Malayalam film called Chakram opposite Mohanlal but the project never kicked off. She then had to face a lot of other failures till she eventually made her debut in a Bengali film Bhalo Theko.

Armaan Ralhan – Aditya Chopra’s 2016 release Befikre introduced Armaan in a supporting role where he caught the eyes of many, but this wasn’t the first film he really signed in Bollywood. Armaan was slated to make his debut in a Sanjay Dutt Productions’ film called Husmukh Phisal Gaya which he had signed in 2013. But the film never really happened.
