Swara Bhaskar Shines In The Trailer Of Anaarkali of Aarah As The Diva Of Double Meaning!

The first trailer of Swara Bhaskar-starrer Anaarkali of Aarah was released at an event in Mumbai late Thursday.

Swara, who plays a folk singer in the film, also took to Twitter to share the trailer.

Helmed by debutante director Avinash Das, Anaarkali of Aarah stars Swara Bhaskar in the titular role. The film is the story of a folk singer and her fight for dignity.

The two-and-a-half-minute-long video shows Anarakali (Swara) ruling the scene of folk singing and she is portrayed as “Diva of double meaning”. After quick rushes that establish her fame, Anarkali is manhandled on stage by a person who looks like a politician and there starts her fight for respect.

The trailer emphasises how the film is the protagonist’s fight for justice. It ends on a strong note with Swara saying, “Logon ko lagta hai hum gane wale hain to koio asaani se baja bhi dega. Lekin ab aisa nahi hoga.”

Some people are comparing the film with Amitabh Bachchan-Taapsee Pannu-starrer Pink that championed the fact that a woman’s consent matters.Director Avinash, however, has claimed the Anaarkali of Aarah is very different from Pink.

Anaarkali of Aarah also features Pankaj Tripathi and Sanjay Mishra in important roles.
