Marakkar final trailer: The Mohanlal magnum opus promises to be a spectacular watch
Marakkar Trailer: The Mohanlal film looks stunning
The final trailer for the highly anticipated Mohanlal movie Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea dropped today. The movie directed by Priyadarshan has the highest budget of any Malayalam movie ever produced and stars an ensemble cast that includes the likes of Sunil Shetty, Arjun Sarja, Prabhu, Manju Warrier, and Keerthy Suresh to name a few. The movie had been delayed for the past year due to the pandemic and is set to hit the big screen on December 4, in all major languages.
Marakkar is based on true events that took place in the 15th century and follows the exploits of Kunjali Marakkar who helped stop a Portuguese invasion by sea. The trailer shows amazing production value and set design and shows Marakkar being hunted by the Portuguese. It also promises some large-scale battle scenes which could be a treat for fans to experience.
What sets this trailer apart is the focus on naval combat, as most of Marakkar's major battles took place in the open sea. It will be interesting to see how they are shown on the big screen and how well they hold up.
Director Priyadarshan has said in previous interviews the movie will not be completely historically accurate and is aiming to showcase the life of a patriot to a new generation and on that level and to that effect the trailer is very promising. So are you excited to see the movie this weekend?
