X-Men Spinoff New Mutants Ropes In Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy

HitFix has reported that the new additions to the X-Men spinoff New Mutants include Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams and Anya Taylor-Joy of ‘The Witch’ fame. It was previously announced that James McAvoy will be reprising his role as Professor Charles Xavier and Alexandra Shipp will be returning as Storm. Maisie will play the role of Wolfsbane while Anya will portray Magik.

New Mutants will be helmed by Josh Boone who will base the movie off the comic book launched in 1982. The characters, who are young mutants under training, were created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod. The movie will be developed by 20th Century Fox.

As the name suggests, Rahne Sinclair a.k.a Wolfsbane’s ability is that she can transform into a wolf. Magik on the other hand is a sorcerous named Illyana Rasputin who also has the ability of teleportation. According to the comics, she is the younger sister of Colossus.
