Star Wars Spinoff Movie for Han Solo

The beloved Star Wars character ‘Han Solo’ will be getting a movie dedicated to him. Lucasfilm has announced that the upcoming Star Wars stand-alone will be based on the origin story of Han Solo, before he met Luke, Leia and the others. According to Ace Showbiz, Chris Miller and Phil Lord will be directing the movie.

Miller and Lord shared their excitement for the project saying, “This is the first film we've worked on that seems like a good idea to begin with. We promise to take risks, to give the audience a fresh experience, and we pledge ourselves to be faithful stewards of these characters who mean so much to us”. The movie will be part of the ‘Star Wars Anthology’ series with the first movie titled ‘Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One’.

The title for the Han Solo spinoff has not been decided yet. Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasden will be writing the script for the movie. It will be produced by Kasdan and Jason McGatlin and co-produced by Will Allegra. While the first part, ‘Rogue One’, will be releasing in December next year, the untitled Han Solo flick will release In May 2018.
