Guess What Happened When Eddie Redmayne Picked Up The Wand For Fantastic Beasts
Danish Girl actor Eddie Redmayne will soon be seen in the Harry Potter spin-off ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’. He plays Newt Scamander, a magi-zoologist in the film which has been directed by David Yates. Recently, the actor spoke about shooting for the film and revealed that complete stage fright took over when he picked up the wand in front of the camera.
He shared that he was incredibly nervous and overjoyed at the same time about playing the part. "It was so weird. Because when you get to pick up a wand, your inner nine-year-old is having the best moment of his life. 'Oh my god. I get to use one of these'!”, Eddie said. He added that as he recollected himself from the excitement and started to act, he got “complete stage fright”.
Eddie also stated that he was lucky to be able to meet J.K. Rowling before they started filming. He just had an hour so he asked questions about his character in the film. The 34-year-old added that Rowling is in love with her characters and that she has answers to everything.
