Benedict and Sophie make their first public appearance as parents

Benidict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter announced the birth of their new-born child via a statement on June 13. "Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son," read a statement from the couple. They got married on Valentine’s Day this year after announcing Sophie’s pregnancy in January.

The couple recently made its first public appearance after becoming parents. The Cumberbatch couple attended last night's Serpentine Gallery Summer Party in Kensington Gardens, London. The love struck couple looked closer than ever as Benedict couldn’t take his eyes off Sophie. 37-year-old-Sophie looked as gorgeous ever in a full-skirted navy midi dress which she teamed with black heels and a clutch bag. The Imitation Game actor complemented her well wearing a suit matching with her attire. The couple were joined at the party by Kate Hudson, Ewan McGregor, wife Eve Mavrakis, Alexa Chung, and James Cordon. 

The old school couple met back in 2009 when they both appeared in the film Burlesque Fairytales. Benedict is known to be a very caring husband and has been caught asking Sophie “Are you okay”? In front of an overwhelming glare of cameras at Oscars. Benedict had previously told Event magazine back in 2013: "I was happy as an only child, but I’ve always wanted to be part of a bigger family. I would love to have children".
