Veteran Actor Saeed Jaffery Passes Away

Veteran Actor Saeed Jaffery, known for his work in theatres, films and Television, has passed away. Saeed Jaffery, who was 86, took his last breath on November 15. The news of the actor’s demise was announced on Facebook by his niece Shaheen Aggarwal.

She wrote, “Today, a generation of Jaffreys has passed away. Saeed Jaffrey has joined his brothers and sister and is rejoicing in the lap of his Heavenly Father, eternally”. He was the first Indian to have received ‘Order of the British Empire’ for his contribution to drama.

The actor, who was born in Punjab, started his career as a theatre artist. He has worked with popular actors like Sean Connery, Michael Caine and Pierce Brosnan amongst others, and renowned directors such as Satyajit Ray and Richard Attenborough. Saeed Jaffery has given notable performances in films such as Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Henna, Chashme-Baddoor, Judaai, Dil, Ajooba and many others.
