Shweta Prasad Signs Her First Film Post Prostitution Controversy
Shweta Basu Prasad, who was caught in a web of controversies, last year, is all set to make a comeback on the big screen with a Marathi-Bengali film, to be helmed by Amit Khanna. Known for her performances as a child artist in films such as Makdee and Iqbal, Shweta’s name was dragged into prostitution racket scandal, which she denied later. After clearing her name in the issue, Shweta has been quietly working Phantom Films’ creative department and also on a documentary titled Roots.
Talking of her project, Shweta told DNA, “It’s an exciting script and a performance-oriented role. I understand Marathi pretty well and have seen a lot of Marathi films. Amit and I have done a couple of photo-shoots together. He is a talented photographer and story teller”.
The director said, “It’s a psychological horror-thriller. Shweta plays the lead role – that of a painter. It’s a very challenging role spanning over more than a dozen years. The other cast members are known names from the Marathi and Bengali industry”.
