She has worked really hard on it: Ranvir Shorey On Konkona Sen Sharma

Actress Konkana Sen Sharma was praised by all after she won not one but two awards at the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) 2017. She won the Best Actress award for Lisptick Under My Burkha and the Best Director award for her directorial debut A Death in the Gunj. A Death in the Gunj also starred her ex-husband Ranvir Shorey.

When asked from Ranvir about his experience of working with her former partner, the Bheja Fry actor was all praised for his ex-wife. “Even before she started directing the movie, I would tell her certain things about it. But it wasn’t what I said, but what her mother (Aparna Sen) said that she took seriously. I saw her developing the script and directing it. She has worked really hard on it. She deserves all the success, and more. She used to sleep just four hours during the shoot. She managed everyone so well on the sets — from cameras to actors, to the production department,” he said.

Konkana and Ranvir tied the knot in 2010 after dating for 3 years. The couple ended their marriage in 2016 after a long speculation around the state of their marriage. They also have a four-year-old son Haroon.
