Shahrukh and Salman fight for Eid 2016 slot

The fight has already begun! After Salman and camp saw a healthy opportunity coming their way with Sultan as a potential Eid 2016 release, the news is Shahrukh’s Raees is also slated for the same slot. While the clash is highly unlikely, what comes here is a fight to conquer the coveted ‘Eid’ slot.

Directed by Rahul Dholakia, Raees is set to go on the floors by the end of this month and will have SRK join the unit by April. On the same term and schedule, King Khan would also be working on Rohit Shetty’s next to maintain the Christmas release slot confirmed. While he has films easily lined up shooting, problem with Salman is that Sultan is far from being going to the floors. The film is in its very early pre production stage and the cast is not yet finalised either. Whether the unit would be able to make up for the delayed start is something to be looked into.

With two big projects eying the same release slot, it is highly unlikely the two will clash. Hence, what would interest more is to see who gives up first. If past acquaintances are to be looked into, wrapping a film up in no time isn’t quite something Salman hasn’t done before. At the moment he is shooting for two films Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, both of which are scheduled to be released this year itself. The last time the two bigshots clashed was in 2006 where SRK came in with Don while Salman took him on with Jaan-E-Mann. Let’s see who accomplishes what!
