Shahid-Kangana Starrer Rangoon Gets New Release Date

It seems like Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut’s fans will have to wait longer to see their ideals pairing up for the first time in their upcoming film Rangoon. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the movie was slated to release on October 14. However, recent reports have claimed that the long-awaited period drama will hit silver screen in February 2017.

The film is taking longer since the makers require more time to work on post-production in order to ensure the VFX is done to the best standard. Reportedly, graphics may not be ready for the movie’s release this year. Vishal says that the flick is closest to his heart and he wants to make sure that it is seen as his best project ever.

“I am very happy with what we have achieved during the shooting of Rangoon”, the Kaminey director stated, “When we suggested Feb 24th as the release date - Kangana was very excited as she is sentimentally attached to February given the exceptional response to Tanu weds Manu which had released in the same period and was also produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures. Given that it’s Shahid’s birthday on 25th February, there is no better way to celebrate”.

While the delay may dishearten Bollywood fans, Desimartini hopes that it’s worth waiting.
