Sadashiv Amrapurkar faces assault for pointing out water wastage during Holi

Prominent actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar, who is mostly known in the world of movies for his negative roles, has been physically attacked by the residents of his own housing society in Versova on the day of Holi. The incident took place after he protested against the unnecessary usage of water during Holi celebrations in his housing society.

As soon as he noticed the wastage of water, he took the responsibility to inform a local TV channel and it led to the unrest in the society. The actor and the camera-person’s statements were recorded by the police and a case has been filed against five troublemakers. Amrapurkar alleged, "They thrashed the cameraperson and stole the video. I was pushed and threatened.”

The TV channel was informed by Amrapurkar that 'a rain-dance' was going on at Panchavati building in his neighbourhood and they were asked to capture the event in their camera as an instance of water-wastage and people's insensitivity towards our society. When the channel's camera-person went to do his job, some of the party-doers took objection and led to the entire alleged incident.
