Priyanka back in Mumbai to participate in inauguration of street named after her father
Priyanka Chopra left Dil Dhadakne Do’s shoot midway to be back in time to attend the inauguration ceremony of the road named after her father in Mumbai. Priyanka’s father who passed away last year of cancer has been honoured with a street named after him on his first death anniversary.
There was absolutely no delay in giving her the permission to head back home when she requested Zoya and Ritesh. The ongoing schedule of Dil Dhadakne Do was being shot at a cruise sailing through Europe when Priyanka decided to come home. The street would be named ‘Lieutenant Colonel Ashok Chopra Marg’ in Andheri and the ceremony will be followed by a memorial to be attended by friends and relatives. The former miss world was very happy on the honour and said she along with her family were overwhelmed. “There was no way I would miss this for anything in the world. My father was always very grateful for what he had and spent a lot of time and energy in helping those less fortunate. We are so proud that he is being recognised for his efforts.My dad loved Mumbai and now there will always be a part of him here" She said. Her father was an army officer who served the Indian army for 27 years and also as the Head of Surgery at the army hospital in Leh. Priyanka is known to be very fond of her father and has even got herself tattooed quoting “Daddy’s Girl”.
She will resume shooting and join the crew on the cruise in a short while. Dil Dhadakne Do is produced by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and Ritesh Sidhwani. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the movie also features Farhan Akhtar, Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in prominent roles.
