Nandita Das is an able director, Says Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who is preparing for his next movie Manto which is directed by Nandita Das has called the filmmaker an ‘able director’. The movie will see the Raees actor playing the titular character Saadat Hasan Manto. "Nandita Das is an able director and I am looking forward to working with her," Nawazuddin said.

The actor further added, “'Manto' was one of the great writers of his time. Currently, I am preparing myself to play him. We have just released my look as Manto, the poster of the film will be coming soon. The gangs of Wasseypur actor recently shared the first look of the movie on his Twitter account in which one can see the actor bearing a striking resemblance to the late Indo-Pakistan writer.

The film which will start rolling from March 15, 2017 will trace the life of Manto as well a focus on the time of partition. Besides, actress Rasika Dugal will be seen playing the role of Manto’s wife Safia. The movie will also feature the Mardaani actor Tahir Raj Bhasin portraying the late actor Sunder Shyam Chadda, who was Manto's friend.
