Kangna Ranaut, R. Madhavan confirmed for Tanu Weds Manu 2 but there’s no sequel for Raanjhanaa
The lead duo of the 2011 blockbuster, Tanu Weds Manu is confirmed to play the lead all over again in its sequel too. Earlier there were gossips that the makers are thinking to cast Imran Khan and leggy lass Anushka Sharma for the second part but the filmmaker Aanand L. Rai has brushed away all such rumours and said that the main characters will be enacted by Kangna and Madhavan only.
Rai quoted, “There is a sequel, it's in the system...the plan is still on. I don't know when it will go on floors. If it’s happening it will happen with same star cast -- Madhavan and Kangana will go ahead with the franchise. The film is incomplete without them.” No further details were shared by the director as Aanand is still working on its pre-production.
The maker’s latest creation is Raanjhanaa. The film has done a splendid job at the box office and has received applause from the critics too. The flick featured Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor in the focal roles, who managed to leave a big impact on the viewers with their performance. But the director has refused to make a sequel of Raanjhanaa as he feels that the film is complete in itself and he doesn’t see any scope left to go for a second part. He said, “For me the film is over. I don't think I can make a sequel to it now... whatever we wanted to tell we have told it all.”
