Ekta Kapoor and family searched thoroughly by Income Tax raiding officers

It was like a nightmare coming true for the entire family of Balaji Telefilms when around 100 sleuths from Income Tax department executed search operations at their residences, office premises, studios and even the properties of the top officials of the production house on Monday. The operations were carried out at the same time in Andheri offices and Juhu studios and properties.

Ekta Kapoor, the owner of Balaji Telefilms along with her brother actor Tusshaar Kapoor and father veteran actor Jeetendra faced the probe by the IT officials. While the search reports remained confidential from the officials’ end, reliable sources revealed alleged camouflage and mis-declaration of income and profits led to the search operations.

The statements of Ekta Kapoor, the joint managing director of Balaji Telefilms and Jeetendra, the chairman, would be recorded later. Balaji Telefilms officials couldn’t be reached for further revelations.
