Brahmins demand blanket ban against Mohan Babu’s A Woman In Brahmanism
Updated : April 30, 2014 06:05 AM ISTDemanding a blanket ban on director Vishnu Manchu's latest filmA Woman In Brahmanism,Brahmins have again launched a protest against the film for alleged derogatory portrayal of Brahmins. Yesterday, angry protesters performedpinda pradhanam(final rites) for actor Mohan Babu in Saroornagar and later they assembled at Mayuri theatre near RTC cross roads and staged a dharna there and in front of the actor-producer Mohan Babu's residence also.
The President AP Brahmana Seva Sangha Samakhya, Dronamraju Ravi Kumar, said, "We have written a letter to the Censor Board demanding a blanket ban on the film for hurting the religious sentiments of Brahmins." In Visakhapatnam, the general secretary of Veginadu Brahmin association, Ravi Nemana, said, "Director Nageswara Reddy seems to be a Brahmin hater. In his last film Seema Sastry also Brahmins were ridiculed. The Visakha Brahmin forum has given a memorandum to the district collector to take action".
