Updated : November 10, 2017 04:30 PM ISTKollywood actor Karthi is all set to don the khaki uniform in his much awaited police movie, ‘Theeran Adhigaram Ondru’. The movie is said to be based on the issues about the country’s federal system. The movie is bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures.
The movie will be based on real life stories and is slated to release on November 17, 2017. Regarding the movie, Karthi was quoted as saying, “I am essaying the titular role of a cop in the capacity of a DSP and it is an action movie inspired by real-life police stories. It also talks about an officer’s personal journey, the shortcomings in the system and what our status is when we go out of Tamil Nadu our comfort zone and how we are viewed. The interesting elements added to the script by the director, Vinoth, will definitely change the general perspective of a cop“.
On being asked about working with filmmaker Vinoth, the 40-year-old actor was quoted as saying, “When he came to me to narrate the script, he said he had written it with a lot of social responsibility. I was wondering that being an action genre, how could Vinoth have incorporated the social angle... But I realised that his screenplay had everything he had promised. Moreover, I knew about this script while I was shooting for Sirutthai. And after a few years, once again, it came to me from Vinoth and I think I was destined to do it”.
