Kamal Haasan Thanks Mohanlal for Suggesting His Name for Papanasam
Updated : April 06, 2016 11:00 AM IST As per the reports, it was Mohanlal who suggested Kamal Haasan’s name for Tamil remake of his blockbuster film Drishyam. Kamal played Mohanlal’s lead role in the remake Papanasam. The film was helmed by Jeethu Joseph, who directed the original as well.
Kamal Haasan told IANS, “I heard it from somebody that Mohanlal wished to see me star in the remake of 'Drishyam'. He felt I'd do justice to the film and recommended by name. I'm thankful to him for that because rarely do stars like me get to work in such lovely films”.
The drama thriller is based on a murder mystery. The Tamil film also stars Gautami, Nivedita, Anant Mahadevan and Asha Sarath in prominent roles. The movie was also made in Telugu and Kannada. Also, the Hindi remake of the film is being made, which stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role. The Hindi remake of the film is scheduled to release on July 31.
