But on Monday, as the jallikattu protests in Tamil Nadu turned aggressive; he raised his voice on the social media and insisted the people to calm down. However, the actor was one of the first few actors to raise his voice against the suspected police force extremes during the protest.
During a press meet on Tuesday, the 62-year-old actor came down hard on these wrathful events saying that he was traumatized after watching those videos. "I hope some kind of a reasonable explanation is given to us, which will sort of calm us down... because this will scare a common man." "I only hope they are actors and not policemen," he added.
When he was asked about the seditious speeches which were delivered by some celebrities during the protest, the actor said that he hasn't seen the videos of the speeches. Speaking on this, he said, "Everybody was making inflammatory speeches. The whole agitation came out of inflammation — probably out of decades of various kinds of anger.
