Confirmed! Bengali Girl Megha To Play The Lead In Bala’s Varma
Updated : July 05, 2018 12:14 PM IST Vikram’s son, Dhruv, is all set to make his debut with director Bala. The director is making the Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy. There has been speculation over who would be cast as Dhruv’s pair but now it has been confirmed that the team has signed on Bengali girl Megha for the role.
The original, which saw Vijay Devarakonda play the titular role, had Shalini Pandey as his love interest. There were rumours earlier that Shriya Sharma, who has acted in a few Telugu films, has been roped in to play the female lead. And we also heard that her expressive eyes got her the role opposite Dhruv.
Megha has acted in the Bengali movie Amar Prem and has also been part of a couple of films in Tollywood (like Ooranthaa Anukuntunnaru). Varma will mark her debut in the Tamil film industry. The actress, who lives in Mumbai, is a trained Kathak dancer which can help her in the movie. Megha has started shooting for the film and the director has shot for a couple of days with her. However, she is yet to shoot scenes along with Dhruv.
