Updated : April 06, 2016 11:00 AM IST Robo Shankar, one of the great comedians in Tamil cinema, remains humble at receiving appreciation for his performance in his latest release Maari. The actor has thanked megastar Dhanush and director Balaji Mohan for giving him space to utilise his skills efficiently. He said, “A comedian needs his space and freedom to perform well. Dhanush and director Balaji Mohan gave me complete freedom”.
Shankar is currently busy with his upcoming project, Puli, which stars Vijay in a dual role. Talking about his character in the flick, he said, “The audience will see me in a new avatar. My entire appearance in Puli is going to be different. My role comes in almost 25 minutes after the film begins and I will be seen till the end of the film with Vijay. My character will be loved by children”.
Shankar has films like Maya and Maiyam in his kitty. He has even signed Vikram Prabhu's next film, Veera Sivaji. He is a very relaxed person in real life, he said, “I am a very chilled out person. As a comedian, I don't need long dialogues to make the audience laugh. My body language is enough to crack them up”.
