Andrea Jeremiah: The films choose me
Updated : August 09, 2017 11:26 AM IST After a long wait, singer-actress Andrea Jeremiah’s female-centric movie Taramani will finally hit the theatres this Friday. The movie which is directed by national award-winner Ram, stars actor Vasanth Ravi alongside her. Getting a certificate for the film has been a roller coaster ride for Ram as there was a particular scene where Andrea was seen drinking liquor which was a concern for the certification board. After a long struggle, Ram finally managed to get an ‘A’ certificate.
Talking about her role in the flick, Andrea says, “I play the role of a strong woman who works in the IT sector. For her, life exists even without men being around her — and she doesn’t care to validate them either. She is a girl who lives on her own terms.”
When asked her if her singing career has taken a back-seat, Andrea completely denied the news saying that can manage both acting as well as singing. She said that there is a misconception that she is busy with her acting ventures. When asked her about choosing her scripts, she said, “Honestly, I feel the films choose me rather than I go after them!” She has Vada Chennai and Thupparivaalan in her kitty.
