From delivering 36 hits in single year to being the first Indian to perform at some of the most prestigious international platforms, he has been there, done that.
We migh remember him now only for trolling him, but he is indeed responsible for giving the Hindi film industry some of its biggest hits in terms of music. We can troll him and crack jokes on his nasal tone how much ever we want, but none of it will ever take away these credits from Himesh Reshammiya.
First Indian To Perform At Wembley’s
One of the rare honors that Himesh can totally gloat over is the fact he is the first Indian to perform at the prestigious Wembley’s Stadium. On October 30th, 2007, he did the nation proud by achieving this feat. It turned out to be quite a successful show as there was a great turn out at the venue. Apart from Wembley’s he is also the first Indian to perform at Heineken Music Hall at Amsterdam.
Aap Ka Suroor Is The Highest Sold Album Ever
In 2006, Himesh came up with his independent album with 18 tracks which soon became chart-toppers. In fact, till date, Aap Ka Suroor is the album that has the sold highest number of copies in the history of Indian music. To put things into perspective, Aap Ka Suroor sold about 55 million copies in India alone whereas Thriller by Michael Jackson which happens to hold the record of being the highest selling album in the world sold 65 million copies.
36 Back To Back Hits In One Single Year
In 2006, Himesh Reshammiya made a new record by giving 36 hit songs in one calendar year. Again in 2012 he managed to deliver 25 back to back hits with hit songs from the films like Son Of Sardar, Khiladi 786 and even OMG. He has had some of his most successful collaborations with Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.
He Starred ‘In A Star Is Killed’
In 2013 he was a part of the film ‘A Star Is Killed’ by French director Christopher Lenoir, co-starring Perez Hilton. The film’s aim was to bring the murderers of Michael Jackson to justice as many people believed that the international pop stars sudden death was a murder conspiracy. It was a much talked about film.
