Pavitra Rishta 2.0: Ankita Lokhande To Return As Archana; Makers Hunt For Another Actor To Play Sushant’s Character

Last year amid the pandemic, Bollywood lost many fine jewels. One of them was actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who bid the world a final adieu on 14^th June. His fans were heartbroken but were glad that the star left behind so many brilliant performances for us to remember him by. One of the many that stands out is his character Manav Deshmukh from television show Pavitra Rishta. He won our hearts as the simple yet romantic mechanic who fell head over heels in love with Archana aka Ankita Lokhande.

Much to the delight of fans, back in February it was announced that Ekta Kapoor is all set to launch a second season of the much loved show on her digital platform ALT Balaji. Titled Pavitra Rishta 2.0, the show would see Ankita as Archana once again. Audiences were over the moon with joy to hear the news and director Kushal Zaveri also confirmed that Ankita has signed the web show. However, it was later speculated that the show may feature new faces.

Well, the latest report shared by Spotboye now confirms that while makers are on the lookout for another actor to play the role of Sushant’s Manav, Ankita will return as Archana. A source revealed, “The actress will continue playing Archana Deshmukh in the show. However Manav Deshmukh's character which was originally played by Sushant will be portrayed by a new face. The show is already being written and the hunt for new Manav is also on.”
