Vijay Deverakonda reveals how Shah Rukh Khan inspired him to be part of Dabboo Ratnani’s 2021 calendar

Heartthrob and South superstar Vijay Deverakonda has won over the audience time and again with his wonderful performances in films like Dear Comrade, Arjun Reddy and World Famous Lover among others. Well, he is now all set to make his Bollywood debut alongside actress Ananya Panday with Puri Jagannadh’s romantic sports action film Liger. Ahead of his much awaited debut, Vijay collaborated with celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani for his annual calendar. The latter unveiled the sexy shot recently with the caption: “Sensational Debut Of ‘The Beast Boy’ @thedeverakonda.”

Well, in a behind the scenes clip, Vijay revealed that it was Bollywood’s Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan who inspired him to be a part of the calendar even though he was initially hesitant. The actor shared, “Dabboo sir had called me for saying I'm shooting for a calendar, let's do it. I was very hesitant initially because I didn’t want my look or my physique to be shown before the film’s release. But then I decided, chalo maar denge. And one reason is, when I didn’t even know I wanted to be an actor tab Shah Rukh sir ko dekha calendar pe.”

He went on to explain, “I love Shah Rukh sir's journey, him coming from Delhi and being a nobody and becoming the king. I used to admire that man. So I was like, karna hai yeh toh. Journey mein this is something that needs to be, it's like a must do and today it's done. So I feel really happy.”
