Updated : November 26, 2021 03:56 PM ISTSalman Khan’s look in Tere Naam has its own identity in the minds of Bollywood fans. The superstar has revealed on a TV show how he impulsively signed on for Tere Naam despite being told not to do the film by everyone.
The actor whose film Antim: The Final Truth arrives in cinemas today, recently graced the sets of the singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Thereafter, seeing a contestant’s performance on the title track of Tere Naam, Salman Khan revealed how he got on board for the film which released in 2003.
"Not many people know but there's a very interesting story behind my look in 'Tere Naam'. I was actually shooting for another film when the producer of 'Tere Naam' and a very dear friend of mine Sunil Manchanda came up to me and said that I'll have to go bald to get into my character. I was not really sure because I was already doing a film at that time and I still remember I was down with fever one day, and the director of the other film was pestering me to attend the shoot,” Salman Khan recalled.

What he did next, however, is something only he could do and not regret it in the least. "I impulsively went to the washroom and shaved my hair out of irritation. The next day, I called up Sunil ji and said that I had shaved my hair and am willing to sign up for 'Tere Naam'. Everyone was actually against me doing this film, but for some reason, I wanted to do it, and irrespective of everyone's disagreement I went on to take up the role of 'Radhe Mohan'," Salman had added on the show.
Well, Salman Khan is what Salman Khan does. Tere Naam remains one of the most iconic films in Salman’s filmography before he made action comedies his genre with Wanted. The movie was directed by Satish Kaushik and starred actress Bhoomika Chawla opposite Salman.
