Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji Starrer Bunty Aur Babli 2 Eyeing A Christmas 2020 Release In Theatres After '83 Gets Pushed To 2021?

Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji starrer Bunty Aur Babli 2 is looking to break the lockdown induced cycle of direct OTT releases and will be seeing a theatrical release. While earlier it was anticipated that the makers will push the release of the film to 2021with the theatres being shut for over 6 months, it is now being reported that the film might end up filling the vacant festive slot left by Ranveer Singh’s 83 this Christmas and release then.

As theaters are slowly opening up across the country with restrictions the makers are now hoping to get back in the swing. A Mid-Day source claims, "Considering Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a light-hearted con caper, the makers feel it would be an ideal festival outing. The Christmas window is empty after the team of Ranveer Singh's 83 decided to push its release to 2021. However, the talks are at a nascent stage. They will arrive at a decision in the coming weeks."

Bunty Aur Babli 2 is the sequel to the 2005 original that saw Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji together. While Abhishek couln’t repise his role in the film he has been replaced by Saif. The film is also seeing the addition of Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari carrying the story forward.
