Riteish Deshmukh accused of being against Hindu festivals
Updated : October 22, 2021 08:12 PM ISTBollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh is a funny man not just on-screen but off-screen as well. The actor recently shared a funny post about how expensive losing weight is compared to the sweets that cause the weight gain and said, “I thought I should warn you.” The post was a meme reflecting the prices of sweets like kaju barfi, laddu, Jalebi and chocolates per kg as opposed to the much more hefty bill of weight loss per kilo suggesting followers to not overindulge.

His hilarious joke, however, backfired as a Twitter user accused the actor of being against Hindu festivals for poking fun while staying mum during festivals like Eid and Christmas. The user took a dig at Riteish and wrote in Hindi, “You people are enlightened only during Sanatani (Hindu) festivals? Eid ya New Year ya Christmas par muh mein dahi jama lete ho (Cat gets your tongue on festivals such as Eid, New Year, or Christmas?)!”

Riteish didn’t ignore the jibe but rather replied to it with a savage response of his own and said, “Sorry sir – Main Vegan hoon, dahi nahi khaata (Sorry sir, I’m vegan. I don’t eat curd).” Several other followers of the actor however, enjoyed his joke and laughed with him at the underlined sentiment of his tweet.
