Brahmastra First Look To Be Revealed In August
Updated : June 10, 2020 12:29 PM ISTThe country is witnessing a lockdown induced by the coronavirus pandemic. The film industry has not just come to a grinding halt, the release of many films has been halted and nothing is happening as of now. However, there are talks with the Maharashtra chief minister and the shoots are about to resume soon.
However, there are some films which have been continuously being worked upon and one such film is Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. The film work continued even during the lockdown, claims a recent Mid-Day report. The director and his team were working on the post-production of the fantasy adventure with different units in different parts of the world, including London and Mumbai. The work was being supervised by him through virtual transfer.
The Mumbai Mirror report also says that alongside overseeing the post-production work, Ayan was busy fine-tuning the screenplay and dialogue of Part 2, which will go on floors immediately after the release of Brahmastra.
According to the same Mumbai Mirror report, the film’s much-awaited first look is expected to be revealed to all and sundry in August.
Brahmastra was announced 6 years ago and it is one of the biggest films to be produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions’ banner. The film was initially slated to hit the screens on Christmas 2016. After multiple delays, December 4, 2020, was locked as its final release date.
If the coronavirus scare wouldn’t have been there, the film would have released on time but now after the theatres being hit by the pandemic, the audiences will think twice before watching another movie in a theatre and also a few days of shoot is still left to happen. Keeping all these factors in mind, the release of the film is now pushed to 2021, according to the report.
The film had started shooting in February 2018 in Bulgaria and had shooting schedules in different parts of the world including London, New York, Scotland, Varanasi, Manali and Mumbai. By the time it’s a wrap, the team would have shot for about 200 days.
Brahmastra is the first part of the trilogy and the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles.
