Pearl V. Puri rape case: Victim's father says medical exam proves molestation, child also recognised the actor as the perpetrator

The Pearl V Puri rape case is seeing several divided opinions floating on social media. While celebrities from the television industry are supporting Pearl who they believe is not capable of the crimes he’s being accused of, the father of the victim who filed the case against the actor has a different story to narrate.

In a statement released through his lawyer, the 5 year old victim’s father claimed that the his daughter had been molested and the medical examination proves it. He also claimed that the victim also recognized Pearl V Puri as the perpetrator while referring to him by his screen name Ragbir.  

A statement shared by the lawyer on behalf of the father with Spotboye claims, “The child who is 5 years old was in the custody of the mother and for 5 months father had no contact at all with the child. One day when the father went to school to pay her school fees the child came running to her father and said that she is scared and she wants to go with him. Seeing the fright on the child's face the father took her home. On reaching home the child narrated what happened to her. The father immediately called the police and after a medical examination of the child at Nair hospital, it was confirmed that the child speaks the truth that molestation has happened. The child named the accused with his screen name (Ragbir). The father does not watch TV serials so he did not know him at all, nor he was aware that Ragbir is the screen name of someone. After further investigation, it came to be known that Ragbir is the screen name of an actor and his actual name is Pearl Puri.”

The incident dates back to 2019 and is said to have taken place on the sets of the TV show Bepanah Pyaar where the child accompanied her mother. The victim is said to have recognized Pearl after being shown various photos and even reiterated her claim in front of a magistrate.

Addressing the social media storm against the victim’s father who has been accused of building this case against to get custody of the child after getting separated from his wife, the statement said that it was all about diverting attention from the real matter.

Post Pearl V Puri’s arrest Ekta Kapoor claimed in a post on social media that she spoke to the mother of the victim who apparently told her that it was all a ploy to keep the child away from her and that the actor is innocent.
