Pavitra Rishta 2.0: Shaheer Sheikh roped in to be the new Manav opposite Ankita Lokhande aka Archana

Fans were over the moon with joy when it was reported that the second season of Ekta Kapoor’s hit show Pavitra Rishta is in the making. While Ankita Lokhande will be reprising her beloved character of Archana, makers were on the lookout for an actor to portray Manav, the role which was beautifully played by late superstar Sushant Singh Rajput. Well, many fans thought that Hiten Tejwani would be the first choice, as he took over when Sushant quit season 1 in 2011. However, buzz now suggests that another popular celebrity has been roped in to play Manav.

The latest report shared by Pinkvilla has revealed that television heartthrob Shaheer Sheikh, who has won hearts in the past with shows like Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke and Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, will be playing the new Manav opposite Ankita’s Archana. A source was quoted saying, “Shaheer Sheikh has come on board Pavitra Rishta 2.0 to portray the iconic character of Manav. Ankita will be back to play Archana again after 7 long years. The other cast members will be locked soon.”

The second season is taking the digital route and will reportedly be launched on Ekta’s OTT platform ALTBalaji. While the team is currently working on the new cast, it was recently revealed that Usha Nadkarni, who played the role of Sushant’s on-screen mother in the show, won’t be returning for season 2 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
