Not Love Aaj Kal But Imtiaz Ali Initially Wanted To Cast Kartik Aaryan For Another Project, Reveals What Changed His Mind

Love Aaj Kal is all set to release next week on Valentine’s Day. The film, that shares the same name as the 2009 film, has the same concept; but this time the lead stars have changed. In this film, we will see Kartik Aaryan romance Sara Ali Khan aaj while he would romance debutant Arushi Sharma in the ‘kal’ version. The promotions of the film are in full swing and director Imtiaz Ali has revealed an interesting detail about the film.

Talking to Mumbai Mirror, the director, while revealing as to why he zeroes in on Kartik Aaryan as the lead of his film, has also disclosed that it was for another project that he had met the actor. So how did he end up in Love Aaj Kal? Imitiaz said that the fact that Kartik Aaryan is from a small town and is now living in a city made him believe that he can be the perfect fit, since he would understand different cultures. Imitiaz also added, “He’d know where I am coming from, having heard stories like this from older people. He grasps things quickly, is accessible and in the right age group.”

Well, this is the first time that Imtiaz will be collaborating with both Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan and we hope that this partnership becomes a hit!
