Nikhil Dwivedi Opens Up On Casting Shraddha Kapoor In His Naagin Film; Reveals She Wanted This Role Since Childhood
Nikhil Dwivedi On Casting Shraddha Kapoor In His Naagin Film
Updated : November 09, 2020 02:35 PM ISTThe gorgeous Shraddha Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actresses of Bollywood. She was last seen in Baaghi 3 opposite Tiger Shroff and will next shine on the big screen with Ranbir Kapoor in Luv Ranjan's as-yet untitled project. Well, the beauty recently announced that she will also be a part of Nikhil Dwivedi’s next masterpiece. Shraddha took to her social media handle to share: “It’s an absolute delight for me to play a Naagin on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring and idolising Sridevi ma'am's Nagina and Nigahen and have always wanted to play a similar role rooted in Indian traditional folklore.”

In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, filmmaker Nikhil Dwivedi revealed that Shraddha was the first choice for his film. He shared, “The only person I really thought of was Shraddha because I think she is one of the few actresses we have who has this unique quality of being a girl next door and can turn into a very sensuous woman the next day if she wants to. Something very interesting that happened was when I approached Shraddha for the first time and she said that she had read about this announcement some months back and that I was making it. She told me that since childhood she wanted to do this and she hoped that we approached her for the film.”
However, nobody from the actress’ team even dropped a hint about this to the filmmaker. He approached her all on his own and there she was waiting for it to happen. When asked when the film will go on floors, Nikhil shared, “By mid Next year, I think we will start the film. I think Shraddha is about to begin her film with Ranbir Kapoor for Luv Ranjan shortly which she will wrap almost half by mid next year. Once that happens, we will start the shoot for this.”
Well, we are super excited to see Shraddha as an Icchadhari Naagin! Aren’t you?
