Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi Will Not Reign If Rains Wreck Havoc On Set, Film Incurs Huge Loss

The Coronavirus lockdown has proved to be a bane for the filmmakers all over the country. Having said that, the lockdown was absolutely necessary to flatten the curve and fight the COVID 19 virus. Needless to say, not just the film industry but also other businesses had to bear the brunt of it.

In the same way, a major production that has to bear the losses of the lockdown is the Kangana Ranaut ‘s upcoming film based on Jayalalitha called Thalaivi. According to a Mid-Day report, the film has already incurred a loss of Rs 5 Crores due to the lockdown.

According to the report, the 45-day schedule was supposed to kick off on March 10. The makers have constructed the Parliament House at Hyderabad’s Ramakrishna Cine Studio. They were supposed to finish the shooting in mid-April followed by the Chennai schedule. Shaailesh Singh, the producer, reveals that they will have to wrap up the shooting before the monsoon arrives or the elaborate sets will be destroyed. He said that reconstructing it would be an expensive affair.

The makers are really worried about the monsoons because it would wreak havoc on the sets of the film. Producer Vishnu Vardhan told Midday, “We have recreated Mount Road at the AVM Studio in Chennai, and had planned a patchwork shoot there. Almost 40 percent of the movie is left to be filmed.”

Sources have further revealed to the publication that t the makers, who are bearing the maintenance cost of the sets and the studio rent, have incurred losses of R5 crore so far due to the lockdown.

Shailesh feels the safety of his people is really important to him. He further revealed they had paid [the studio] for March, but were unable to shoot for a single day in Hyderabad.
